Normally, in Vietnamese there is no need to conjugate verbs. Depending on the adverbials of time in the sentence, we already know what tense the sentence should be.
For example:
Hôm qua tôi xem phim Conjuring 2.
Yesterday I watched Conjuring 2.
(The sentence already contains "Hôm qua" that shows it is the past).
Ngày mai tôi đi London.
Tomorrow I'll go to London
(The sentence already contains "Ngày mai" that shows it is the fuure).
In some cases, the sentence does not contain adverbials of time. So we have to conjugate the verbs this way:
Past tense: đã + [verb]
Present tense: đang + [verb]
Future tense: sẽ + [verb]
For example:
Lan sẽ đi học đại học.
(Lan will go to university).
Anh đang làm gì đấy?
(what are you doing?)
